Research led evidences are always essential in structuring health and related programs. These evidences often rely on careful handling data generated through appropriate study designs. Longitudinal data and careful handling of confounders and effect modifiers always contribute to their scientific importance. Statistical softwares are now indispensible tool in evidence generating process. Stata is considered as an ‘ideal’ and in many ways ‘adequate’ in assisting in complex statistical procedures, nowadays it is the sine qua non of data processing in creating evidences.
The course aimed at enhancing the capacity of health researcher and relevant others in dealing with advanced statistical procedures using Stata, which would help them in summarizing others' findings and generating evidences on their own.
The course includes lectures, discussions, exercises, and computer sessions. Hard copies of handouts and reading materials will be provided.
The course spans over a total of 10 working days; each day (except Friday and Saturday), the sessions start at 2:30 P.M. and continue to 6:00 P.M. with a tea break for 15-30 minutes in between.
Target group and selection of participants:
Master's in biological/health sciences or social sciences or medical graduates with some exposure in biostatistics are eligible for the course. In general, participants will be selected based on their pre-requisite qualifications and first come first serve basis. However, institutional and candidates from SAARC countries will be given preference. Successful candidates will be notified by mail or over telephone.
All sessions will be facilitated by resource persons from icddr, b.
